Ladies European Tour in Tále
Historically the first in Slovakia golf tournament of the Ladies European Tour series.
GRAY BEAR, the first in Slovakia 18-hole championship golf course, welcomes for the first time in history professional lady golfers. The tournament entitled Allianz Ladies Slovak Open is held on May 27 – 30, 2010.
In the very heart of Europe, nested in high mountain ridge of the Low Tatras lies the golf resort Gray Bear Tále. The golf course Gray Bear was designed by the American firm International Golf Course Design, its designers being Bob Walton and Skip Malek, while the grand opening of the golf course in 2002 enjoyed the presence of the golf legend Tony Jacklin.
Allianz Ladies Slovak Open welcomes 126 professional lady golfers from all over the world. The tournament grant of 350 000 € is no doubt appreciable motivation to take part in the tournament.
The first Slovak professional lady golfer Zuzana Kamasová comments on this unique event:
Zuzana Kamasova, the LET’s sole Slovak representative, is proud to be attached to the golf course and competing at the tournament. “I am super excited that Slovakia will host a LET tournament especially at my home golf course Gray Bear, which my golf coach has co-designed,” she said.
I have always dreamed of being able to play in a pro tournament on home soil, so for me, it is a dream come true! I know that the girls will enjoy it, because the course is challenging but fair, set in beautiful scenery of the National Park of the Low Tatras, surrounded by mountains. I am very happy about this new addition to LET schedule and I hope the tournament will attract the best European lady golfers!” |
